I know what you mean, man.

This happened to me when they played "When You Sleep" live in front of me irl.

First song is on some "Moon Song" type shit and it's gorgeous.

I love this album and the last song made me listen to some Black Secret Technology immediately afterwards, which I highly suggest doing if you're not in the business of just playing the thing on repeat.

They have a full length album from the '80s, a full length album from the '90s, and a full length album from yesterday. And a compilation of EPs. I don't know, I'd say any one of those or any combination of them or just set aside a few hours and listen to all of it. I'd recommend the last option.

They pretty much don't have any bad music so start anywhere.

Still struggling to comprehend the notion that this album actually happened and i am playing it on my computer right now and that the Knife are putting out an album this year and so is David Bowie and D'angelo might too.

SOMB thread about this is so fucking funny.

smfh @ Binko, Simakos, and Hans Christian Anderson, especially. What the hell makes those dudes think that they can act like they're part of some grand focus group for musicians' artistic guidance? Really puts many things about life into perspective.

Okay, so obviously "Voodoo Ray" is great but the only album of his that I've heard is Essence and it sucked, imo. Way too many vocal tracks, which I guess isn't a bad thing but none were anywhere close to the level of anything on Timeless, for example.

Really curious about this album, especially because I've sorta been on a jungle kick lately. The other day I came close to starting what I hoped would be some sort of megathread on it that would run throughout February but decided there was no real chance of that taking off on JDFF or here.

Black Secret Technology is not on Spotify and doesn't seem to be available for legal download anywhere except iTunes and I'm not gonna start using that for music any time soon.

Haven't heard that album, but the use of vocals on BST (which contains a Goldie collab) is definitely tasteful in the sense that they're used sparingly, just as sounds.

Anyways, I'm uploading it right now. I think it's the latest remastered version (earlier versions are apparently really muddy but I've never heard them...sort of would like to), plus a bonus track that was only on an earlier CD version, which I started a thread about in the Dance Hall not too long ago (and which does contain vocals as the central element, but also is a classic and as good as the best Seal tracks.)

According to the site Perfect Sound Forever, it is a favorite album of This Heat drummer/vocalist/creativeperson Charles Hayward. It's pretty terrific if you like...I don't know, Miles Davis, Aphex Twin, Orbital, The KLF, good music in general? He was in 808 State for a second, too.

As Paves said it's all great, but I'd still start with Loveless because it's... super great.

I've never been an advocate of starting with the supposedly best one, but rather the newest one, if it's also supposedly good, which is apparently the case with this band.

And that said, Loveless never grabbed me the way that one "doon doon doon da doon doon doon" song that was on the ep before it did. And I like this new one more than I remember liking Loveless.
