Just scored a ticket for the JAMC show tonight. It's been years since I've been to any show that wasn't a street fest or at Smartbar and this month I've got three. JAMC, Babymetal, Laibach.

Gonna be awesome.

Gonna see D'angelo on June 20th. Not basement, certainly not shitty (of either bad or good variety), but super pumped nonetheless.

Kraftwerk is playing a handful of N America dates this fall (no Chicago dates at the moment). I guess I'll try and buy tix for the Nashville show. What's the best way to find out a presale password? So far a google search for "Kraftwerk tour Nashville presale password" has been fruitless.

Saw Buddy Guy at the Bluesfest. It was raining the whole time. The shredding was completely balls out and melted the minds of all present.

Dude said "fuck" a lot and played Hendrix covers. Show of the century, for sure.

My brother bought Destroyer tickets for my birthday. London in October. I'm pretty excited about that.

Yes, yes it was. That was easily the best concert I've seen this year, and probably all of last year as well. I came there prepared for smoldering soul and we got the straight FUNK. Guy is a James Brown- Curtis Mayfield-level talent. Damn.

my thoughts exactly! Just felt like I was witnessing a showman at his peak, like D'angelo is primed to pump out some The Payback or Sign 'O' the Times type records for the next ten years.

I keep missing him. I went to Outside Lands just to see him one summer and he ended up having to bail because of medical issues. He was in Paris about three weeks before I arrived. He will be in Milan like three days before I arrive.

It's fucking bullshit. He is going to be at North Coast Music Festival when I'm back in Chicago. But I don't think it would even be enjoyable to see him there..
