I like the music video, but this thread needs all seven minutes. I was amazed to discover (courtesy of Shallow Rewards, lol) that early 90s Mercury Rev was actually kind of awesome before their music got all gay and swirly.

last week this song morphed from "a song on an amazing album" to "an amazing Yo La Tengo song"

It looks like another problem with the preferences in our profiles. "Always enable HTML" should be on.

I don't know how to change the default for this but each user can change his or her (lol) profile.

read a couple people who were pretty upset with that Andres track getting #1 on a lot of "best of year" track lists, but i think it's actually pretty ballsy to declare something so simple and obviously pleasant better than more dramatic stuff. there's a tendency in evaluating music to say that music has to be dramatic and serious to be truly great (rehashing a really old argument here), but i think light and carefree can be just as stimulating.
