Re: Hardwood
I had the Wizards in 6, but even that seems optimistic, at this point.

Re: Hardwood
Butler missing that layup, just now, was pretty much the perfect way for this to end, should it in fact be over. Says it all.

i still old out an irrational hope that vogel benches hibbert the entire game on thursday, pacers go small and ride cope/watson/george/hill/stephenson outside shooting to an un-pacerslike 120+ offensive explosion. repeat for game 7, move on to the wizards and return to smashmouth pacers basketball.

Re: Hardwood
Agreed, the lack of scoring should be how it ends. What disgusted me was the lack of hustle at the end. How many offensive rebounds did Washington get in the 4th quarter? Death by back-tap.zappo wrote:Butler missing that layup, just now, was pretty much the perfect way for this to end, should it in fact be over. Says it all.

Re: Hardwood
All these upsets & road wins were fun at first, but we're setting up for some pretty boring later rounds, particularly in the east. It's looking like Miami vs. the 5/6/8 seeds. Heat vs. Wizards conference finals? zzz
If the Rockets, Warriors, Thunder, and Spurs all exit the first round, I will have been robbed of my most anticipated NBA playoffs ever. Of those four, only the Spurs look like they can survive.
At this point Miami has the east locked up, and whoever they face in the west will be decimated by a few long series. Miami over Clippers for a three-peat? Ugh.
Hope I'm as wrong about all that as I usually am.

Re: Hardwood
Oh, man. Miami wins the Finals, for sure. I thought it would at least pretend-competitive, going into the playoffs, but I now expect them to lay waste to any and all comers. Gonna be like that 2009 shit all over again.

If the Nets, Mavericks and Houston all win tonight, we'd have three more game sevens on Sunday.

Re: Hardwood
I watched like 60 Bulls games this year plus 5 playoff games.
As a result, I know very little besides the obvious about most of the teams that are still alive. Houston seemed like a good team to root for -- solid bros, no real bandwagon to speak of -- but alas.
I'm not excited about rooting for the Pacers but I want to believe that the regular season isn't totally meaningless.

Re: Hardwood
Why does the basketball thread have more posts this offseason than the hockey one? I've watched two basketball games today and it is painfully boring. This sport sucks.

Re: Hardwood
Switching back and forth between this Toronto-Brooklyn game and the Hawks. Toews just scored, and it's a three point game with like 22 seconds to go. I can barely handle this shit.

Re: Hardwood
Houston is definitely a fun team to watch, and I love their analytic approach, but a first round exit is what I deserve for rooting for Dwight Howard.undo wrote:Houston seemed like a good team to root for -- solid bros, no real bandwagon to speak of -- but alas.
