Thanks guys. I hope none of you ever have to experience that. I can’t tell you how awful it is to be trying to fall asleep but hearing an exact replica of, ‘gunfire, woman scream, then SHOOTER’ in my head.

Glad you are okay but also sorry you have to deal with the knock-on effects of that kind of thing. Don't be afraid to talk through that sort of thing with someone, including trusted loved ones, if you feel like it would help process everything.

I am thinking about moving to Beirut. I was having a conversation with my parents about it the other day and my Dad asked the very obvious: "is it safe?" And of course, it is a country that has been dancing on the precipice for a long time with some hostile neighbors in a very insecure region of the world. And yet, I would feel immeasurably safer walking through the neighborhoods in Beirut where I'd inevitably end up living (wealthier/ex-paty) than a lot of places in Chicago, which is a pretty fucking sad reality.

MAGA fuckface was fired today!!

I used the phrase “send an email blast” in a meeting this week. As in “The quickest way to communicate changes like this would be to send an email blast to the partners”.

And I had a co-worker jump in asking if we could stop using the phrase “email blast” because that’s very aggressive and triggering.
