Here's a simple list you can use, some other orgs have done similar ones I'm sure: https://www.isba.org/sites/default/files/judicialevaluations/2016primary/ISBA%202016%20Cook%20County%20Primary%20Election%20Ratings.pdf

Re: THE 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
I voted early this morning. My first ballot didn't get counted by the machine for whatever reason. I had to get back in line and fill out a second ballot. When I asked for the second ballot the dude handing them out asked what happened to the first one and I just responded "early and often" and winked at him.
Unfortunately, they don't think that joke is very funny....

Re: THE 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
I was thrown out of a polling place for wearing a homemade "FUCK BUSH" shirt, in 2004. Some union plumber dude was enraged on my behalf. Abandoned his ancient, walker-using mother to give the people who forced me out (for infringing on everybody else's right to vote, as they explained) a few pieces of his mind. Good times. That was the last time I ran afoul of anybody while voting.

Re: THE 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
One of the earliest songs I recorded in '04 was an anti-Bush (American Idiot fever sweeping the nation at this very time!)/"dance-punk" parody called "Testifunk!" with the lyrics "FUCK BUSH" sung in a chipmunk voice. I might have uploaded it to the SOMB.
When he actually got reelected everybody at school was so sad the next day. Darkest vibes ever.

I'm not sure where it is, but I do have it somewhere. I think I wore it in Japan, a few times.

Re: THE 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Something I have noticed happening to me this election cycle is that the frenetic pace of the news coverage makes it impossible to ever develop a robust thought. There is always some new piece of the puzzle that can't be overlooked. I just want to skip to November.
It seems pretty clear at this point that Clinton is going to be the next President. I'm still not on board with the lesser-of-two-evils theory. The problem with a Clinton presidency will be revealed two years in when down ballot candidates on the Left get trounced in the midterms because Clinton and the milquetoast Democratic Party is incapable, and maybe even unwilling, to galvanize a fresh, young voting base.
I mean, sure, she is going to be a better President than Trump or any GOP candidate. And she will be able to protect and improve upon certain aspect of Obama's legacy (healthcare and LGBTQ rights being two of the most important since they are actively being threatened by GOP lawmakers). But her AIPAC speech was some insane bullshit. She basically is making the claim that anyone who is involved with the BDS movement is anti-Semitic and is conflating the Israeli State with Jews. I mean, come on... At some point during the GE debates when Israel and foreign policy gets brought up we are going to see Donald Trump attack Clinton from the Left.

Or because that happens every time, like it did with Obama, because democrats don't vote in midterm elections, because they're fucking idiots.

Re: THE 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Yeah. I'm really not sure what to make of 2010 to be honest. People were so swept up in the symbolism of Obama's presidency that it became a detriment to maintaining grassroots political efforts, maybe?
I've been following the hipinion primary thread really closely for the past few months. There are some great contributions made there. Does anyone else follow this thread? Every post made by this Warranty dude is so brilliant. I wish that I could write half as lucidly and intelligently about complex issues. I PM'd Soma a few weeks ago to get a hipinion account. I registered an account under the name "Jabberwocky" (I really don't know) but Soma hasn't responded. Does anyone know someone at hipinion that can put in a word for me. I really wanna eviscerate one of the boarders in that thread who has been pissing me off for weeks now.

I see a lot of posts about Mattis for a 2016 write-in, mostly from my republican/military acquaintances, but I really hope he holds out for 4 more years so he can run a big monster of a MADDOG2020 campaign.

Re: THE 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Even though there is almost no way that Trump becomes our next President he is still going to be a major voice in our political process for many years to come, which is just such a disheartening idea. At the same, it's also kind of awesome since he is effectively destroying the Republican Party in a way that the Tea Party was never able to do. I'm actually less repulsed by Trump than I am by someone like Karl Rove.

My cousin (who introduced me to SOMB like 7 or 8 years ago now) is a public school teacher in the city of Chicago. I'm going to be joining him on the strike this Friday. Stickin' it to the man (Bruce Rauner).
