Primal Scream albums are usually as good as their covers so I'm pretty pumped for this one.

This is probably going to suck but I'm hoping this will be the year I can finally see them!

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
I assumed Bowie would be my #1 album of 2016 and then the news that Wolf Parade are reuniting threw a curveball my way.

I might just only listen to Bowie in 2016.

This is okay but I'm kind of nervous that this is what the whole album is going to sound like.

Internet going nuts with Radiohead rumors. If they play Lolla that might be a shitty basement show I have to attend.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
I really want to see them already and I just want to do it on a normal tour and not have buying the tickets be some kind of experience I have to prepare for or some shit.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
I saw them in Tinley Park a while ago with a friend. It was actually really disappointing. Any rumors of new material though? Haven't they been in the studio for a while... Isn't Portishead also in the studio?

I like this 12" almost as much as I like font and drawings on the label.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
Dawn is awesome! Definitely looking forward to whatever she brings this year
Can I recommend you all get aboard the KING bandwagon as I have a feeling it's about to get extremely crowded. It's early days and I don't want to get too evangelical...but it'll take a lot to unseat this as my favourite album of 2016; so heavenly, gorgeous and rich
Streaming here and out properly on Feb 5. http://www.npr.org/2016/01/27/464592961/first-listen-king-we-are-king

I think Jesu/Sun Kil Moon is the best thing Kozelek has done since Admiral Fell Promises. 'Last Night I Rocked the Crowd like Elvis and Had Them Laughing like Richard Prior' has to be his greatest song title, right?

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
I went into Reckless on Broadway yesterday and dropped a hundred dollars on records I hadn't heard yet, but I expect are firmly in my comfort zone.
I think I put these guys' 2nd album at #1 on my JDFF ballot back in 05. I still stand by that, and this one rocks pretty hard so far.

It's the soundtrack to the Blade Runner pastiche Dario Argento really ought to have cranked out in 1983.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
Listening to the new Not Waving album a few times over the last couple of days has made it blindingly obvious he was responsible for this:
