Over 40% of the US population sees no humor in that GIF which is more terrifying than Trump himself.

I was fourteen years old when Obama became President. So basically my entire thoughtful life he has been my President. I sort of remember Bush but during his second term I was mostly preoccupied by jerking off three times a day.

What is it like having someone other than Obama be President? It seems really discouraging... He has to be the best President ever in American history, right?

I was in high school for Clinton and just remember my dad hating him but thinking the dude seemed super cool.

College for GWB though. Imagine starting to care about politics and the world around you and that dumb fucking piece of trash is in office. With 50% of the population agreeing with every stupid thing he did.

Obama getting elected was an inspiring and amazing thing to witness even though he had impossible expectations. In a decades time he is going to be looked at as an extraordinary president.

How's Palin still relevant and who are these fucking clowns treating this like it is some form of rocket fuel for Trump's popularity in the party?

Isn't it kind of life-affirming for people who believed in her and felt let down by how her ambitions actually played out?

I'm assuming you're talking about Trump's "special guest in Iowa" which I haven't even heard about yet but just assumed would be her.

I guess I can see how it would matter if you're the kind of person who could even entertain the possibility of voting for either Cruz or Trump IE you're a complete idiot.

Every clip I’ve heard of Palin speaking, yesterday is some bizarre conservative word salad.
“The president doesn’t love America, drill baby drill, in it to win it, Obama leads from behind, apology tour, make America great again!” Pretty sure that is an actual quote.

Ya, go back home and find a community to organize, you dick!

Serious question, what would you do if Donald Trump was President? I'm pretty sure I would leave and never come back. Like actually get crazy and rescind my citizenship and move to southern Italy.

Peter Quaife wrote:She's an avant-garde poet / performance artist.

Palin's poetry has always made use of a superficial simplicity that melts away when the reader tries to follow her layered structures with a linear logic, but now those moments confront each other in jagged juxtapositions, and yet at the same time there is a lightness and playfulness in the startling use of rhyme and wordplay, almost randomly sprinkled through the text (do we detect here the influence of hip hop?).

Old themes familiar from her past work recur as young, brightly lit, childlike images. She remakes Barack Obama's "they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them", for instance, into a kind of jolly nonsensical nursery song, while her own "Drill, baby, drill," formerly a bluesy erotic expression of her love for the petroleum industry, takes on the sudden violence of a toddler's unexpected rage, in a new context.

But there is a classicism, too, right from the outset, in the way she turns Trump's slogan "you're fired" into an oblique reference to the fire-stealing demiurge Prometheus, I think; and the almost Sophoclean irony of the central paradoxical question, "What would the establishment know about conservatism?"

It is terrific and exciting but the media and DNC will set out to crush him in a matter of weeks. He would be more representative of a liberal Democrat than HRC and sadly that isn't what the party or media wants in a debate / campaign against Trump.

I like Bernie , been following him for many years, but I'm curious what people think he'd be able to accomplish as president. Who does he put in his cabinet, etc.
He's kind of a lone wolf, right. Who are his allies and what are their agendas?
At least with Obama 08, we knew he had something of a plausible infrastructure available for his cabinet or whatever.

While I probably relate more to Sanders ' vision, realistically, the dream should be President Clinton, Democratic Senate / House, Majority Leader Sanders.

No. But I think you're going to be pretty disappointed when President Sanders can't crush Wall Street and give everyone free college because that's not how it works.
I'm not saying he can't or won't win, but just look at what people on the left were saying about Obama in like 2010 when everything hadn't turned out great by then. And the Obama campaign was a genuine cultural movement, where the Bernie Sanders thing seems more like some thing that some people are talking about on the internet.

Just my impression, happy to be wrong of course.

    Pretty unfuckingbelievable, yep.

I've been thoroughly disgusted with the Clinton campaign and the idea that 'liberals' should support her because she is the more realistic candidate who appeals to the broader masses and is our best chance at avoiding a Republican presidency. The problem with democrats is that their pussies. They aren't likable because they are always on the defensive. That's what was so wonderful about the Obama campaign(s).

I really miss Obama already. Sad Sad Sad Sad
