Re: Clothes houndz.
So I haven't purchased any new clothing in the past two years whatsoever. About six months ago my 3 year old Sperry Topsiders started to fall apart so I just duct taped the sole back on with some shiny silver masking tape.
It's probably about time that I revamp my shoe situation as well as get a nice winter coat for the upcoming months. I only wear the color black and am looking for a slick pair of black shoes that work with black pants and a long, black winter trench coat that is water resistant.
If any of you have any insight into places I should be looking around, let me know.

Whatever. I don't care about brands. I think I have an old Velvet Underground shirt that I still wear from that store and it's fucking badass.

wp64, since I feel a certain degree of responsibility over you as your new lifestyle tutor I'm going to tell you to stop wearing band t-shirts.

Re: Clothes houndz.
Yeah, I usually don't. I usually just throw on straight black or white crew neck t-shirts with an IZOD sweater over it. Or this Chicago Police t-shirt that I have cut into a hilarious tanktop. I'm an aggressively bland dresser and hate almost all things. I never wear button-ups. I only wear black jeans or earth-toned corduroys.
I do have an old Guns n Roses t-shirt from the 8th grade that inexplicably still fits me and I wear it from time to time. Also, a big fan of hoodies and frequently wear them underneath my ratty army jacket I purchased for $5 a couple years ago. It has blood stains on the jacket.

Re: Clothes houndz.
I don't think I have ever purchased anything in a thrift store except for a USC Letterman's jacket that I got for $5. That was the steal of the century.

Re: Clothes houndz.
Where do anarchists buy their jeans? That sounds really stupid but it's actually a serious question. Do they just get Levi 514s and call it a day or what?

Re: Clothes houndz.
Why would an anarchist concern himself with what brand of jeans, or from where he buys them? Also, don't you go to, like, a public school or something?

Re: Clothes houndz.
I'm just assuming that someone with anarchist tendencies would be concerned with mass-production and would want to use their money, if they want to use it at all, to directly benefit workers rather than corporations.
Basically they'd want to be directly in touch with the forces of labor that created the things they wear/use, so they'd want the money to go directly to those people. How the fuck do people who think that actually go about doing it?
For some reason I just can't imagine Efrim Menuck walking through a Levi Outlet store and going into a changing room to try shit on. I could be wrong.

Re: Clothes houndz.
I see.
There are plenty of brands that do not outsource their production, nor buy mass produced materials, but they will typically charge more to compensate themselves for their own increased costs associated with being small. If you want to appropriate the style of your current idols, you'd probably be best off going to thrift stores because I have a hard time imagining or caring really where they shop for their jeans.

Re: Clothes houndz.
I have absolutely no patience for thrift stores because I hate shopping and just like being able to find what I need and be done quickly.
Whatever. I am just going to learn how to sew.

Re: Clothes houndz.
Yeah, you might want to look into textile manufacturing. Sewing is one part of the process of making clothes. I would recommend you just wear a garbage bag. Its black, water resistant, makes a statement, and you can buy them at your nearest convenience store!

Re: Clothes houndz.
you should buy your thrifted items at CROSSROADS TRADING COMPANY on North Clark St in Lincoln Park, North Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park or Sherman Ave in Evanston because my mom is their web and advertising director.

Don't listen to c-poots. Anarchists buy their jeans at the Tractor Supply Company.
