Until the weekend defeat against the Koemen, Spurs were no further behind Leicester than they were at Christmas, their records R pretty similar in 2016 until the foxes won the league. It was Manchester City and Arsenal falling away which meant Leicester won so early. Not down with the Spurs blew it narrative that I've seen.

Gillingham managed to spend 44 games in the play off places or better this season. Barnsley 1.

"Spurs collapse" is definitely a false narrative. Like U point out, they were behind pretty much the whole way. The truth is closer 2"no one really challenged Leicester". City and Arsenal's form in 2016 has been abysmal.

I would encourage non-US residents (but even US residents) to listen to one of the most popular NY sports talk radio shows go off about soccer being heavily featured in Sports Illustrated this week:

As a neutral I thought the CL Final was just Ok. I like that Zidane has won the trophy because he's fucking incredible but seeing Real win is like cheering 4 a major corporation to continue to have success

Simeone had such a look of defeat, exhaustion and disappointment at the end I felt bad 4 him. I also feel like Yannick Carrasco was the handsomest player on the pitch that included Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos.

Whatever, Euros start in 2 weeks!

Euros start today. I really like the Spain squad but I am not convinced they'll score enough. They've won before without needing to but there is so much fire power in France & Germany that I'm predicting both R going to put on quite the show this tournament.

But I am going with Germany to win.

USA making the semi-final of a competition that is a total marketing gimmick seems about right.

People R falling over themselves to point out how "bad" this Italy team, but they have a bunch of excellent players. The loss of Marchisio and Verratti was big, but they're still one of the 5-6 favorites in the tournament 4 me.

    4. England
    5. Italy
    6. Croatia
    7. Poland

I don't think Turkey R very well organized though, to be fair.

Congratulations to Spain 4 putting in a performance that vaguely resembles an upper-tier European club team.

At this rate we may C something approaching Liecester in the KO stages.
