can't say enough about the Marissa Nadler, really, it is probably her most accomplished record yet, and certainly her most personal. deeply affecting shit, "Fireworks" in particular.

I feel Marisa Nadler is probably someone I should have heard multiple albums of by this point. Maybe 2014 will be her year.

She already did once with her song with Pitt bull, and she is the star of a show that continues to attract millions of viewers. I don't actually see how it would constitute her "coming back".

While you're not wrong, she is def not as popular as she was during her 'waiting for tonight' period. Maybe comeback isn't the right word, how about reemergence?

You could put jauquin Phoenix in the same boat. Obvs he's still famous but he isn't on the same 'roll' he was directly after walk the line. Dude blew it with his Andy Kaufman phase and being out of the spotlight for a few years is not helpful to a career in this era of the media/Internet.

    New Hold Steady Single.

Used to enjoy this band a lot, then I completely stopped caring about them a couple of years ago. This sounds like boilerplate HS -- not to say it's awful, but it's not doing anything to turn me around on them again.

I'm not rob gordon, but I do remember him form SOMB.

I liked Total Strife Forever on first brush but I wanted more tracks with vocals, because he did them well. need to give it some more time.

Torn Hawk has a tape coming on Not Not Fun in February, which should be lovely based on this evidence: https://soundcloud.com/not-not-fun-1/torn-hawk-blindsided

Track sounds like Buckethead meets John Frusciante, which means I enjoyed it, but I can't believe something like that is remotely hip.

Reminds me of the stuff I used to sit around & play for hours on end with a cheap drum machine, Digitech RP1, and a four-track. Tapes before tapes were cool! Effects processors like an RP1 make all but the absolute worst guitarists sound fine, if you have any ear for melody and just noodle in key over a loop.

That must sound like I'm trying to take Torn Hawk down a peg, but not at all. I'm not trying say "anyone can do that," so much as "I used to attempt that." I'm sure my old stuff sounds much worse in reality than in my memory.

does this count as 2014 music?

i guess Sam Smith is the dude who sung on a bunch of Disclosure songs. his album is coming out this year?

could anyone have a problem with Niles Rogers being everywhere? feels like a win win win situation.

Undo, does this fall under "songs that sound like 'I'm on One'"?

this is pretty much the hardest song out right now and it has a video!

Been so fucking busy today that I'm just now seeing Bob Odenkirk confirmed a new Afghan Whigs album via Twitter.

If you follow The Whigs in FB or Twitter it was obvious this was coming but Saul Goodman making the announcement is funny.

Confirmed, awesome Chromatics song ruined. Is this a legitimate recording artist people enjoy or are you trolling us? He's probably huge. The first time I heard/saw "Thrift Shop" I though it was a watkid.gif worthy attempt at viral joke rap.
