There's never a line at the one I go to. In fact I'm a little concerned for them.

Never eaten at Chick Fil A, for whatever that's worth. Hadn't even heard of the joint until they gassed some gay people or whatever it was, however many years ago.

I guess I thought it didn't matter now, CEO threw millions at campaigns opposing gay marriage, that was money wasted and that fight is over, etc.
Now their money goes to Africa and probably anti-trans movements, I'm assuming. I wish their restaurants weren't so clean and peaceful!

Sox have gotten after it hard this off season. I’m psyched to start watching baseball again, but probably won’t end up doing it since I don’t have cable and I live in a time zone 7 hours ahead.

Re: let's baseball
I think so, yeah. Like cricket, at least imho, it’s enjoyable on three major levels:
1. A great play is immediately accessible. A dude crushes one for six runs or a homer, an amazing catch... The whoa factor is universal.
2. The environment. Both sports feature lots of leisurely down time. A sunny day, fresh grass, a beer, some sport. I’ve been to cricket matches and not followed 100%, but still thoroughly enjoyed it.
3. The history, the intricacies, the strategy. I live and breathe this wrt baseball, but I am not even close to there yet with cricket. Hasn’t stopped me from casually enjoying the latter, and I have a feeling that if I really wanted to dive deeper, there’d be a whole lot to get obsessive about.

The backlash against the Astros seems a bit much to me. They cheated and that was bad but my god the outrage is over the top.

Re: let's baseball
I have never understood the concept of "strategy" in baseball.
I understand shifting the infield or the outfield to anticipate where individual hitters tend to drive the ball. I understand the difficulties of trying to stretch your pitching to minimize fatigue and injury (and the necessity of "strategy" in doing this).
I have never grasped that the game is anything more than trying to get on base by any means necessary, "strategy" entailing just trying to put yourself in advantageous situations (avoiding easy force outs, trying to get ahead of the count in a pitcher-batter duel), using pinch hitters and pinch runners wisely, etc.
I have never witnessed "strategy" in baseball in the same way I plainly see it in most other sports. But I am also very dumb so,

Gamblers lost tons of money in the last two years. Players/managers/GMs lost potential contracts. That’s the outrage. People wanna try to make it a moral thing but I guarantee if shit loads of money wasn’t involved it wouldn’t be covered the same way or to the same extent.

I’ve always like Bellinger but his torching of the Astros was some elite boarding type shit.

Been thinking about Ichiro a lot lately.
First dozen or so professional years were spent in Japan and he’s still on short list of all time hits... gold gloves for days... he’s arguably THE greatest player of all fucking time.

I was rewatching a bunch of his older stuff yesterday, it's so good.
Baseball is probably my least favorite sport out of the big 4 in the USA. But every installment of this series about the Mariners is just the some of the most captivating video essays/sports docs I've ever watched in my life. If you're bored or need an escape in watching something, it's just perfect. The aesthetic of his work is one of the most unique experiences on all of YouTube.

I can’t take this baseball season seriously. Play your 60 games and have a fake champion.

I’ve never been happier about clicking a Netflix pop up than when I clicked on “The Battered Bastards of Baseball” Today.

Baseball has always been a metaphor for America, and the tragedy and beauty of this story are a perfect example.

Feels to me - as an Oakland Athletics fan - like it'd be the most Oakland Athletics thing ever for the Oakland Athletics to win the World Series this year.
