This team fucking sucks and I am officially worried about Lauri. His defense is such a liability that when he isn't hitting deep shots and stretching the floor, his presence is probably a net-negative on the floor. Wendell is the only player who I have been consistently impressed with.

Not only did they blow a 17 point third quarter lead. Not only did they get outscored 38-19 in the fourth quarter. They blew the lead while both AD and Bron were on the bench. They were literally undone by Dwight Howard.

Re: this is a basketball thread
Yeah bro, I’m sorry we talked you onto the bus... this season is not going well at all. Lauri has been putting up horrible stats and like you suggest, his defense is weak. Jim Boylen, being a defensive minded coach, needs to address this in a better way then, ‘you can’t coach effort.’ Obviously that’s true but they don’t seem like they have cohesion on the defensive end. They switch defenders terribly and often times look like they are scrambling to catch up with the ball before it ends up in the hands of an open player. They need to head down to Brazil for an ayahuasca sesh and find themselves.

Re: this is a basketball thread
How does everyone feel about music being played during games, I mean like while the players are playing, there never being a silent possession at all anymore, etc.?
I'm watching highlights of a Memphis Grizzlies game and this is the first time I've ever really felt like, this is really gone too far now. I also can't imagine how anyone can play like that without losing their minds.

There is probably no way for this to not sound snobby, but as someone who watches 2-4 soccer matches a weekend I appreciate the fan generated atmosphere.
Watching on TV or attending in person and seeing “Make Some Noise!!!” flash on the Jumbotron is a bit pathetic.

I hated it and think the vuvuzela is an abomination.

Re: this is a basketball thread
nooooooo, I'm talking about when they switch up song loops and stuff on the PA, not fans starting chants on their own
At best: DE-FENSE, D-FENSE and "LET ME SEE YOU CLAP YOUR HANDS" *clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap*
and at worst: loops of the guitar lick from "Blister in the Sun" being played at Bucks games, like I know Violent Femmes are from Wisconsin but this can't possibly be getting the fans hyped up and Giannis can't possibly be running down the court thinking to himself "yes, I love it when they play this!"

Just watched highlights of a Blazers game, no in-game music at all but lots of in-between possession music and sound effects, it did not feel awkward or strange, as some people apparently complain about.

The actual experience of being inside an NBA stadium is completely unbearable for me. Before the opening tip, there was just non-stop music about living your best life or whatever. It couldn't have been more nauseating.

Really curious what else might fit this for you, I'll report back later tonight and let you know if I heard it at the Bulls-Pistons game

They had no business winning that game and the Hornets are an absolutely horrendous basketball team. Really impressive shooting night for LaVine and hopefully this win gives them a shot in the arm, but I obviously doubt that. The opening five minutes (15-0 Heat run) in the game the night before was truly pathetic. The only consistent bright spot on this team continues to be Wendell. I also like Kris Dunn coming off the bench.

So...you're not coming back to the States in June to witness in person the ass-kicking we're going to put on the Lakers?

I already have my tickets booked, of course, but I would be lying to you all if I said I wasn't worried about the cancellation policy on the airline tickets.

We have a dude who is currently averaging 49 points per game. We are going to obliterate this league.

Re: this is a basketball thread
When I saw this thread was bumped last night, for some reason I was certain that it was for bad reasons like Lauri or Coby getting a broken leg or something. I went to bed assuming that to be the case.

If Lauri had been playing with a broken leg this whole season that would actually be reassuring and explain a lot.

Would be at least the third time that the Bulls medical staff allowed/forced a player to play with a broken leg, right? Sounds better'n realistic.

I like Uncle Drew. I do. But, the man played in only 11 games this season. Almost 500,000 votes to be an all star? No time table of when he’d come back so he wouldn’t even play if he was voted in. Same with Steph Curry. There should be an eligibility rule. Maybe at least 20 games played before the all star break and not on injury protocol. Look at Zachs numbers. The guy deserves it this season.
