Fuck, I really hope you get the chance to see him live. That popular meme with brains and light and the one at the bottom has lots of light? That’s the “seeing D’Angelo live” brain, in my experience. When I saw him, everything else got a bit less.

I had my first experience listening to Les Rallizes Denudes this morning & it was a transformative experience.

It could have been that I was sky high on a Cuban coffee and deleting emails on a Friday contributed. Or it may simply have been the 1 hour of sick noise listening to Heavier Than A Death In The Family was enough.

I listened to three Fiona Apple albums in a row and I’m wondering if I should skip bedtime to listen to a fourth.

If you enjoyed yourself, then yes. If it was purely academic, then no.

I want to insert a “good answer, good answer” gif from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, but I don’t know how and it doesn’t exist anyway prolly.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and am listening to idler wheel now while finding weird iPhone notes and depriving myself of precious sleep.

Sacrifice everything to listen to another Fiona Apple record.

I thought he made some other music I had enjoyed very much but it turns out I was getting him confused with some other artists.

IMHO this is some pretty wonderful, mostly forgotten (?), turn of the Millenium pop punk rockabilly fun shit, and I’m glad I dug it up this afternoon.
It sounds a lot like being 18 and going to the Warped Tour and thinking stuff is cool.

Man, haven't heard of these dudes in a long ass time. Feel like maybe I saw them on HBO's Reverb a million years ago? Gonna youtube this.

I just listened to “Fly Away” and maybe it’s cause it’s sunny out and I’m feeling not terrible, but it was so utterly enjoyable. Some amazing stray cats by way of 90s punk singers beauty.

Oh and the instrumental last song is both Ninja Gaiden and Castelvania in the most obvious and amazing way.

"West End Riot" was my jam way back when.

Listening to this on headphones for the first time and it's like a whole new song I've never even heard before.

Paves and others here were really big on this a few years ago and I did listen to it then but it didn't really resonate with me for some reason, probably because this was back in 2011 or something and my head wasn't in the right place to appreciate this.

I'm loving it in a Second Toughest In the Infants  /  Vanishing Point kind of way that probably no one else here is going to feel but take it from me that's a good place to be.

I get my deepest listening experiences on cloudy, quiet mornings like this one. I also work 3-4 days a week and don't have kids so that probably helps make sure this happens more than, like, once a year or whatever the rest of you get to experience.

Busted out Jewelery early this week and I’ve listened to it everyday. Also wondered what they had done lately and listened to their album from 2015... that one is not so good. Unfortunate because their sound and her lyrics were really unique at the time.
