Yeah, this is it for me too. There's a wine message board I read occasionally, but it's not my community, not nearly. Once Members-Only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum goes, I'm out of the game.

Yeah, I probably have more posts on Hipinion than on both LoPPs combined, but only because there are so many more threads to post in. Can't imagine considering anywhere else to be my online home.

i don't think i could face the prospect of heading over to the Fetish Immobilarity Media Sharing forum and dusting off the Lord Tempo account.

I've been part of dozens of forums, list-servs, irc/aol chatrooms, bbs's and so on since the early 90's. I tended to fade away from those like I do with this one from time to time but, unlike here, I never went back to check in and see how the people there were doing. For whatever reason, I feel compelled to check in from time to time and participate.

When this message board kicks the bucket I'm gonna track you guys down 1 by 1 just for the purpose of drinking a couple beers. Pretty much never met any of you, but I consider you friends of a very high order. Most of us have (seemingly at least) moved on to being awesome humans full time irl anyways, and at this point YSG is more of an extension of that than a traditionally hard boarding place of online supremacy. Cheers to this.

haha. just a couple of weeks ago I was woken by the sound of an irl friend hurling chunks at said convenience - I appear to be a magnet for such episodes.

I'd happily extend the privilege to each and every one of you (preferably individualy as, even with our dwindling memberlist, a Members-Only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum mass boke would present a formidable logistical conundrum. I suppose I could seek planning permission for the construction of some sort of vomitorium but it seems excessive)

Sometimes I catch a train back to Naperville during the business bros rush back to the suburbia on Thursdays or Fridays and sometimes I find myself scanning Union Station for a dude who looks basically exactly like Jose Mourinho, holding a 32oz Budweiser can, with a tattoo on his forehead that says "Nick."

But actually, I bet at some point I have been on the same train. Or been waiting at the same red light intersection in Naperville.

On Fridays I take the 5:22 express but usually don't have time to grab a beer beforehand. My commute consists of reading a comic book and staring at my fellow riders with total disdain.

Ben W popped up in a media news feed I was reading - just was promoted to Data Editor of the LA Times. I'm guessing that finally knocked "Sound Opinions Message Board Moderator" off the bottom of the resume once and for all.

I do hope he has a column, like Dear Mona at fivethirtyeight, called Should Ben Care?
