NFL Network does such a terrible job of televising a football game. Fuck Thursday Night Football.

Scoreline aside this was a pretty dominating performance by the Bears. But that doesn't really prove much since its against the now 0-6 NY Giants.

4-2 isn't a bad start and really the only disappointment of the season thus far is the loss to Detroit, which was all caused by a 2-minute meltdown that lead to three quick touchdowns. Otherwise the Bears have looked like a solid playoff contender.

I think the Bears are a soft 4 win team.

what parts do you not like?

Mayock and Nessler are probably the best commentary team going right now

their offense is middle of the pack and their run defense is looking pretty bad so i'd probably agree with this, but it all depends on your expectations.

Bears could still make the playoffs, but there doesn't seem like enough places they can get better over the course of the season to be actually threatening if they snuck in.

i am a pretty big fan of the Marshall/Jeffrey/Bennett/Forte set of weapons and i think Cutler will continue to hold that group back.

the season expectations for my Raiders have already been met because they beat someone that wasn't the Jaguars.

There were several obvious fuck-ups. Like that time they went to the dude on the field and he was ending his thought. You heard the last three words of what he had to say and then he just looked dead into the camera for like 30 seconds saying nothing. Also, they would always come back from commercial during the middle of a play.

Plus, there should not be football on Thursdays until after Thanksgiving.

I agree with you about football on Thursdays. Loving the NFL I end up looking forward to them and watching but Bill Simmons is actually right when he has said it it usually the sloppiest game of the week.

i agree that Thursday Night Football is both stupid and dangerous and that NFL Network does not have the production values of ESPN. there should never be games on Thursday because playing on less than 5 days of rest is extremely dangerous.

i think NFL Network meets the minimum standard whereby the limited production values don't negatively impact my view of the game. the same could not be said, for example, of the broadcasts CBS was doing 5 years ago (they're much improved now).

that said Mayock and Nessler are still one of the best duos going right now and they should get upgraded to some Sunday games.

I dig Cris Collinsworth. I am not sure if that is an unpopular opinion. But I stand by that dude.

it is quite an unpopular opinion and one i hold too

i think he reads the game extremely well and often finds something insightful to say where other analysts would just fill the space with dumb chatter

Isn't the clock supposed to stop when you run out of bounds? Did they change the rules? I feel so stupid asking this but this has been bothering me ever since I noticed it a few weeks ago.

"backwards progress" out of bounds doesn't stop the clock?

what a lame rule that is

No reports on Finley yet but he could be the biggest loss thus far. He is a match up nightmare for teams and GB has no tight end that can replace him.

I was disgusted to hear the broadcasting team talking about how that was a clean hit, and that the only reason he was hurt was because he let his head hit the ground. Ridiculous stuff. Nothing but love for Finley. I hope that he's somehow okay.
