It’s frustrating to see that Da Baby’s ignorance will now have put an end to what was surely an unstoppable, creative and inspiring long career.

For real. Fucking moron.
I was on the fence about concerts, and have no plans of attending any at this time.

Honestly, I’m vaccinated and fitter than 95% of the country if a concert I wanted to attend came through I’d fucking go.

I got confused and thought they were playing Chicago in October, this already happened weeks ago.

Re: "the concert industry"
did concert ticket prices get really expensive
like, this year along with everything else?
or am I just trapped in the past because I haven't bought one in like 5 years and they were always going to be like this much

Both. They're trying to make up for all the money they've lost the last two years and pretend that consumers need to pay more for safety "because of Astroworld".
Just more corporate bullshit.

Re: "the concert industry"
I mean like tickets that I thought would be $30-$40 are listed on the venue's website as $90. This is before any additional fees. I'll admit that this $30-$40 price is probably not realistic and might have been a huge bargain ten years ago. But I cannot wrap my head around why it's over $60 before fees, and it's not even close to that
Am I just descending the not that old person mindset where you completely lose touch with how much everything currently/is supposed to cost? I have sincere fears of this, like tomorrow I'll be paying some kid two shiny new nickels to clean out my gutters or something.

i know that the industry has really changed but i can't decide if it's for the better or the worse
music being valuable created some great art but it was also a mafia industry

Re: "the concert industry"
A couple co-workers told me on a call today they are attending the Ultra Music Festival in Miami this weekend.
I was not aware of this festival and when I told them that they made a little joke about how “apparently you’re not into EDM”. I did a quick search for the festival and confirmed for them that I’ve never heard of Afrojack or Camelphat and they said “Wait what really?!?!”

Re: "the concert industry"
All I know about "Afrojack" is that he plays like every Spring Awakening festival and like every other North Coast Music Festival.
I had to Google him but of course he is neither black or African at all.

Hilarious. He probably wore a giant Afro on stage or something, like deadmau5. Remember deadmau5? A lot of that shit is so generic and forgettable, can’t even remember what deadmau5 sounds like at the moment.

Re: "the concert industry"
I fucking love this deadmau5 track and will always defend it. The Kaskade synths help. Never got into his music or schtick overall.
Camelphat is okay because I like that style of house, but it's really the shittiest version of that. I know they're insanely popular and remix a lot of stuff.
The EDM/festival scene is terrible, but there is a lot of very good music very close to the bad stuff.

Just got back from my second Coachella and the vibes were immaculate!
I see myself going every year until I get bored of it. One of the best party weekends of the year.
