Fuck yeah dude. Keep up the good stuff.

On another note, this video really does it for me. Like a 5 minute watch.

That's amazing. The idea of running more than 70 miles in 24 hours though is completely absurd... It doesn't even seem possible.

The one good thing about all the rain this week is it gave me a good excuse not to run.

I have been getting up early and working out. A couple days a week I go for a late afternoon run as well. Injured my calf pretty bad yesterday when I slipped on a patch of mud. Running might be paused for a bit!

I've been doing some afternoon running on the bicycle path that runs along the DuPage River (basically along Washington Ave. going towards Downtown Naperville). I am in such bad shape though. I did my normal 5k circuit yesterday and had to stop about twenty fucking times (and I was running slow as fuck to begin with). It is frustrating as hell.

Well, I would add that most neck inflammation comes from eating lots of carbs and sugars so it’s more likely if you’re cutting back on those types of foods you could have thinner necklines along with defined jawline.

Finally back in the habit of 3 runs a week. M, W, and F, usually mid-day as a break from work. I've started running around the lake by my house. It's around 4.5-5 miles, which is longer than my usual 3-3.5 mile runs. But once you're out there and stuck halfway around the lake, you gotta finish. It's a nice trick.

Since I'm a heavy dude, typically I wear running shoes for overpronation. I feel like I've changed my body enough in the last few years to wear some shoes with less structure. I'm still heavy, but with a much stronger core and feet.

I've heard great things about the new shoes from NB and I love the colorway, so I'm gonna order: https://www.newbalance.com/pd/fuelcell-rebel-v2/194768785603.html

Anyone have any good running tales recently?

    Nice, good stuff Chrono.

Past 6 months I've been in a pretty god awful horrendous work/school schedule that combined with winter weather to really derail my running. But lately the weather warmed up, and I've gotten 2-3 days per week with enough time to get out a little. Found a nice new loop around where I live that is gonna be my go-to, and even got in a handful of runs where I felt pretty good again. DC area has all sorts of trails looping around the lame hustle and bustle, probably built for all these military and government dipshits who make being athletic part of their schtick.

Love running was putting in a mile a day every AM and a 5k on the weekends, work has pretty much put me out of commission recently but I’m forcing out 1 to 3 miles a week still.

I like to do it best around 5am, when no one is out and it’s quiet. No music

Keeps me pretty balanced and has helped with my energy and mental well being

I started running last October, and did my first competitive 5k this week, one year later…30:36 min. If I didn’t stop at the end twice I would have been sub 30, but I was dragging at the end, it got nasty. I know better now. I never followed a strict “training” plan or did any sprints, etc. just winged my running all year.

Finished in the top half, and did above avg for my age group, so I’m satisfied, especially considering my lifestyle and how much stress and obligations I’ve been under this year. Im pretty driven and ready to keep shaving down that time.

Congrats Avec! I've managed to stay on the wagon decently well since April. I'm consistently crushing my 5 mile runs and have even had a few 30 mile weeks. I tried wearing a basic FitBit for a week, but the data and emails really didn't do anything for me. I'm not very data driven when it comes to personal optimization. My feeling tends to be that doing more good things for yourself is always good, so I focus on staying motivated versus tracking progress.

For anyone here who wears a Fitbit, what's the greatest number of steps you've ever logged in a day? I don't have one but I want to know if you're rewarded with a bonus animation when you get to 20,000 steps.
