I'll be in San Francisco next Tuesday through Friday. It's for work, mostly. Tuesday is basically a vacation day though!

It's entirely possible that I just failed the exam I sat this morning, so it may be a bit longer before I can tell you what you already know.

I could also have passed, I guess, it's hard to say.

Only been here since yesterday afternoon and do not want to go back to Chicago weather and lack of marijuana smells wafting through the air.

There are elements of San Francisco that certainly suck. The public transportation is shit, the homelessness is brutal, and the foot traffic after like 8pm in most places is completely absent. I don't know much about the demographic make-up of the city but it seems like it has just become a massive suburb for Silicon Valley.

It's an awesome vacation spot but it got pretty brutal at times when I was there for an entire month.

Rich Table's great. Also check out State Bird Provisions. Easy to get a seat for one. It's in the Fillmore/Japantown area. My wife and I stuffed ourselves w/ a round of drinks and dessert and walked out of there - w/ tip - $130 lighter. That's incredible for a michelin-starred restaurant.

Ate at BlueStem Brasserie and Town Hall thus far.

BlueStem was ok. The Alaskan Cod with pork belly at Town Hall was something else though!

In Vienna. Might have failed two of those French exams, btw, which is a bit of a bummer. Luckily I think I can do an intensive subject right after I get home and have it not affect my job.

Sucks. Go hard in Vienna and kick ass when you get home.

Discussing potentially going to Seoul with my girlfriend later this year. I've wanted to go for some time but she has been opposed. She has recently been sucked into the world of Korean Dramas and thus, I will get my desired vacation.

No such luck on the J-Dramas front thus far but I will continue to keep eyes peeled.

I'm going to New York in June. Will be my 3rd time. Trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do on my 3rd trip to NY.

because our travel and accommodation were free i endeavoured to spend the equivalent on food, booze and drugs. just about managed it.

It houses a third of the extant Bruegels. I went dozens of times during my year in Brno.

I recommend hitting up Xi'an Famous Chinese in Midtown and then heading over to the MOMA nearby which is currently free of charge from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Fridays. After that, get on the subway and get out of Manhattan - get a big dinner and drinks in Brooklyn.

it's a small vacation, but i'm trying to get to breckenridge tonight for a long weekend of skiing.
my dad's out there now, he said they got 26'' of new snow this morning.

Solid advice. My brother lives in Bed-Stuy, so we'll be spending a good bit of time in Brooklyn. Ate at Vinegar Hill House and Do or Dine the first time around and Roberta's and Peaches HotHouse the second. He's getting married - that's the impetus for this trip - so I think Mer and I are going to take him and his lady out somewhere fancy as a present. Any thoughts on that?

No, not really, unless you're looking to spend +$1000 on the four of you for a night. I typically don't eat fancy here so don't know that list of options well.

will probably spend two months in japan this summer, as part of my japanese class stuff (seminar + intership at some company kind of deal)

I've heard the drinking culture in Seoul is insane
