Listening to a big compilation of Aznavour classics at the moment and it's just the best thing in the world.

Revisiting The New Pornographers' Mass Romantic this weekend. Nico Case sings her ass off on this album. "To Wild Homes" actually gave me chills when I was listening. Don't think I've heard that song in years.

Re: Now Playing
The CD of Tiger & Woods' Through the Green is packed with a bunch of locked groove-ish interludes that are not on the digital version I've been listening to for years (downloaded from Soulseek or a fish thread, I have no idea). Quite surprising the first time I played it, although I'm not sure they really add any value to the whole thing or not. Actually I think they disrupt the flow of the whole album, but I guess that's just a personal feeling.

This record is still fucking awesome by the way. Props due to Peter Quaife.

That's a blast from the past. I put out that Nite Life Collective disc when I was at Dust Traxx. How does it hold up? I haven't heard it in over 25 years now.

Re: Now Playing
Wow! Alright. Recently I saw that Patrice Scott's label Sistrum was going to be releasing music by Brian Harden. I'd never heard of him, but that compilation was mentioned and it seemed like a promising source for good '90s Chicago house.
I've listened to it a couple times now, and the real standouts for me were the Vick Lavender and Strictly Jaz Unit tracks. I guess the former artist was involved in both, which isn't a surprise since both tracks have sick jazzy keyboard playing that makes me want to track down more of his stuff.
I'd say it all holds up just fine and has made me a fan of this guy:

Re: Now Playing
I was just about to turn the album off when my son told me to leave it on because the music went well with his game. The song was "Noise Loop" at the end of this album... laughed pretty hard.
This is the kind of situation you have to look forward to Michael K! Prob without the Lips tho!

Jack Jutson and Liam Butler have become some of Canada's best selectors in a short few years. Their rapid rise belies their relaxed, funky and sometimes cerebral approach to DJing, where New Age and ambient sounds sidle up next to vintage disco and their own earthy productions. It's an aesthetic shared by their peers in Mood Hut, a label and collective that started as an intimate party series in Vancouver's Chinatown neighbourhood and has since spread out into a network of shows, aliases and collaborations. But even with the increased attention, they're still humble, quiet guys who prefer to stay in the background. You won't find any interviews with them online (they turned down the brief Q&A that accompanies our podcasts) because they prefer to let the music speak for itself. Their mix for us, full of rippling guitars, flutes and boogie basslines, really does say it all. Packed with new and unreleased material from the Vancouver massive—Cloudface, Hashman Deejay and Aquarian Foundation among them—it also doubles as a survey of one of dance music's most exciting new corners.

All that keyboard playing is Glenn Underground who ghost produced the majority of songs on this comp. I always thought his keys were too wanky and indulgent but to each their own if you want more.
I'd suggest researching his very extensive discography:
