This looks really interesting. Thanks for this!

Not sure if you’ve been listening but on Wednesday his guest is Amanda Petrusich - she is maybe my favorite music journalist.

New season of Blowback started yesterday focusing on Cuba. Season 1’s topic was The Iraq War and very well done.

Also, just saw that the first episode of Season 2 Cocaine & Rhinestones is now available.

    Great week for podcasts!

That is an absolutely lovely podcast episode. It really made me think of Ned. I feel like it is tailored perfectly for his enjoyment. Very life-affirming content.

It doesn't matter if I'm streaming via Apple Podcasts or Soundcloud, it also doesn't matter if I was able to successfully stream something just fine yesterday, go to open it again to pick up where I left off and I get a "We’re sorry, that track isn’t available on mobile." message.

Well I was listening to it on my commute yesterday and the day before without any problems at all!

That's strange. If you are on a mobile, instead of following the link I would search for the episode in Apple podcasts and then stream it that way... Not sure if that helps.

I am barely 2 minutes into this 7-minute long "bonus" episode of Sound Opinions. So far there has been one McDonalds commercial, two Goose Island ads and one audible.com ad

I have been listening to the Bjork podcast called Sonic Symbolism. Each episode covers an album of hers in a 45-50 minute compact listen. She’s not necessarily one of my favorite artists but I have liked all her albums and always found her interesting.

She drops in stories and thoughts about the recording process and what she was going through at the time while snippets of her songs play.

Most of it is interesting or weird Bjork rambling that doesn’t always make sense to me but still sounds cool. She name drops music she was into occasionally as well. I give it a thumbs up and a good listen with morning coffee.

After receiving the Bear Family George Jones Starday/Mercury box for Christmas from my mom - in lieu of the usual Dave's Picks subscription - I'm now on my 3rd listen to season 2 of Cocaine & Rhinestones. In spite of Tyler Mahan Coe's generally grating delivery and sometimes wtf taeks, it's really just one of the top 3 things I've listened to in the world of podcasts ever.

I mean, great question. They're probably both episodes of Radiolab from the Jad and Robert days.

I've listened to one of these and 100% expect to use it to fill out a Bjork post on The Run Out Grooves this year.

Bjork once gave me tips on where to visit outside of Reykjavik when I first went to Iceland.

One of my favorite YouTube music people has a long-running podcast that I'd never bothered to check out until yesterday.

The Good Dr Bill makes several guest appearances!

Since the pandemic chopped me down from 10-12 hours of commuting a week that I would podcast the fuck out of down to not many at all each week and TROG takes up a few hours per week I've gone from listen to every episode of 7-8 podcasts to not many.

Seems like the market has really plummeted.. Almost all of the podcasts that I still keep up with are now endlessly pandering for subscriber support/donations. Since I am commuting and living alone my intake of this para-social content has increased again..

I was listening to The Adam Friedland Show Podcast. This is now like 3 podcasts I still listen to and maybe my favorite.

Nick Mullin was talking about his comedy special on the last episode and the bit where he said the special was supposed to be called “Year of the Dragon” but they fucked up the t-shirt run and printed it as “The Year of the Dragon” so now he has to stick with the “The” was so hilarious I am laughing days later.
