Best safety in the draft. Probably gonna feast on Cutler and Stafford next year. Probably gonna smash Forte a bunch of times too.

Re: NFL Discussion
Are you seriously going to act like you are that confident about a safety that you probably were told about less than a couple weeks ago? C'mon man.
Edit: Nevermind. This guy played on Alabama's defense and I vaguely remember seeing him actually. Probably a good selection. Good job Packers!

If you guys can't get behind a bunch of unproven athletes becoming instant millionaires wearing corny suits you are not American.

Re: NFL Discussion
With next to zero knowledge whatsoever about what is going on with the NFL at the moment, I guess I can tentatively say that I am glad there is a guy named Johnny Football in the league who people seem to care about.

Re: NFL Discussion
If Johnny Football wins the Cleveland starting job the season will instantly become at least 44% more entertaining.

Re: NFL Discussion
I'm a big fan of Bill Simmons and I am glad he said what he said.
I was also looking at the Bears schedule and realized they have 6 primetime games this year (already played 2). Pretty wild.

I knew when I was listening to that pod he was going to get in trouble. I think Sal knew it too but couldn't stop him.
ESPN censoring him is disgusting and I hope he leaves along with Men in Blazers.

Re: NFL Discussion
I dunno if it's possible for Simmons to leave without pulling the plug on Grantland, which is the only part of ESPN's empire I give two shits about.

......wow.
......wow.
If my boss said that about me in a published and widely read article I would flip my shit.Particularly on podcasts, Skipper said, Simmons has a tendency to slip back into his “bad boy, let’s-go-to-Vegas” persona. Simmons, Skipper believes, is transitioning into an important influence and mentor at Grantland and needs to leave his well-worn punkishness behind.

Re: NFL Discussion
That defense....
Packers aren't going to be very good either this year. Unless Aaron Rodgers can consistently keep his QB rating somewhere near 150 every fucking week. How about that one touchdown throw that came back because of the holding call. Dude is ridiculously talented at what it is he does.

Re: NFL Discussion
The GB defense gave up tons of yards but only 17 points. Week before they only gave up 9 and had 3 turnovers. I think they will be fine. Probably look awful throughout the season but if they create turnovers - something they didn't do the last 2 seasons - and the offense stays on track... Could be a big year.

The AV Club's "Block and Tackle" section on Fridays is pretty much the best thing about this NFl season so far.

Re: NFL Discussion
Pretty entertained by this train wreck of a season. The impulsiveness of Bears fans coupled with the punkish, I-really-don't-give-a-damn attitude of our man Jay produces one of this years greatest soap operas.

Re: NFL Discussion
Can't believe Brandon Marshall would pick on Robbie Gould. Like Gould is going to say anything back to a dude that got a teammate in Denver shot in the neck.
