On a related note, I sang "Best I Ever Had" karaoke with some chick tonight.

Re: Rap Songs of Interest
So I just went to get a sandwich at Jimmy Johns and when I walked in this was playing on the speakers unbelievably loud. I was walking up to the counter as Yo Gotti was saying "snapchat me that pussy!"
The two black girls behind the counter freaked out when they saw me and immediately flipped the music to some classic rock radio station. I told them that they really didn't need to do that on account of me and that I would actually file a complaint if I was forced to listen to such boring music while waiting for my order. Managed to get some laughter and they also switched the track back.
MY DM JUST CAUGHT A BODY!!

Re: Rap Songs of Interest
I'm spending the night listening to Wu-Tang albums while I drink a few brews and type up some papers.
Raekwon -- Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...
Ghostface Killah -- Supreme Clientele
GZA/Genius -- Liquid Swords
Probably 36 Chambers to finish
I probably haven't mined this catalog as much as I should have by now. Open to suggestions!

Check out Ironman and The Pretty Toney album by Ghostface. Method Man's Tical is quite good and Raekwon's Cuban Linx II is fantastic follow up.

He has a craft malt liquor that's only available in the Bay Area, unfortunately. Chrono, care to give it a try and report back with your impressions? He also has a bottled mixed drink, which I believe is called "Sluricane."

That is unfortunate, but part of me thinks that it shouldn't be available anywhere else.

I've seen Sluricane all over the place and never pulled the trigger. It's at BevMo. It's undoubtedly disgusting.
The malt liquor is advertised as having a "hint of honey" flavor. It also sounds foul, but I'm more likely to get that if I see it around than Sluricane.

What R your thoughts on this WP64 and Jasper, and others? I'm not typically into the new trap influenced rap but his cadence in the second verse works so well with the beat. I know he's a Future doppelganger or whatever.

Re: Rap Songs of Interest
It's a number one hit! Hard to argue with that.
I like Future, I like trap, so it is theoretically up my alley. The more I listen to it the more the Future comparison is just a superficial vocal similarity. There's none of the moodiness, the drawl, or the atmospherics of Future. I think the vocal comparison is very fair right off the bat, but it doesn't hold up over time.
I think it's the lowest common denominator in terms of creativity. Very much pop-trap. It affects a lot of "popular rap song things" without doing anything new. It's executed very well though. Future himself has the opposite problem--he has a great "sound", but often executes poorly or lazily. I enjoy listening to it, it get's stuck in my head, but it leaves U feeling a bit empty. The production is especially thin. It has none of the heaviness that good trap has. It's feather light rather than dark and brutal.
I agree that there R some isolated elements that work really well. The interplay between the beat and the chorus is nice. I enjoy saying "I got broads in Atlanta" while walking down the street. The machine gun ad libs R my absolute favorite part though. BRRRRRRRRRAAAHHH.

My wife loves the song now.
