2020 musical recordings

I'm listening to the new posthumous Mac Miller album. I think it's the first thing I've heard by Mac Miller. BTW, Zappo, he sounds very little like Mac DeMarco. Anyone familiar? Do all of his vocal tracks sound like E from eels doing a Norah Jones impression?

Until that recent thread, Miguel, I actually thought they were the same dude and they was dead.

The abandoned first album by the Frogs, recorded in 1986, is coming out this year.  After listening to the first track, I can't wait to hear the whole thing:



I've always thought the Frogs high profile close friendships with a handful of the big time 90s alternative rock singers was a curious aspect of their existence.  And as a major Lemonheads fan for over 30 years, I fully support this decision to have one of the best and handsomest vocalists of the era take over for Dennis.

Jimmy is also taking The Frogs – which will include Evan Dando of The Lemonheads on drums, guitar and vocals – on the road for the first time since Dennis' death, with gigs in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas and California.

Apparently Terry Allen is still alive and recording music, so probably going to give his new Moby Dick álbum a listen.

Listening to the new Dan Deacon album helped me remember how fun and joyful his music is. Played "Wham City" in the car for my ~5yo while driving her to preschool this AM and she just loved it.

Yeah, I gave it another listen today and I’m not feeling these songs. With that being said, I already felt that way with Currents. At least with Currents the songs were catchy as hell. These songs are so unmemorable. No good choruses, no good riffs, and fairly traditional song structures... I really felt like I forced myself to listen again today. Too bad, this was one of my favorite bands of the last few years and I feel like shedding them at this point.

I like Lonerism and Innerspeaker. Not a huge fan of the electronic pop sound he’s going for these days. It certainly appeals more to young people so I know what he’s doing but I think he’s reaching at this point creatively.
