Re: 2020 musical recordings
I was always under the impression that "Black and White Town" was more or less it with Doves, and this new stuff doesn't do much to change my mind on that.

Thanks to this post I have been listening to his last couple records and wow, they're all really something and certainly nothing at all I ever expected.

These are good! If you had dropped one on an indietronica compilation circa 2000 it wouldn't have sounded out of place (in a good way).
Reminded me of this which I had not thought of in a long time?

Re: 2020 musical recordings
Lmao that track is totally like the music I put together, that’s funny. Leave it to me to be 20 years behind the curve
I’m happy we worked on these, not sure if she’ll want to do music again but I think it’s a great time capsule type thing for her to revisit years from now that may make her/us laugh (especially those acoustic tracks when she was like 3 or 4yo)

Enjoying the latest HAIM much more than I enjoyed the last one, but I'm not ruling out that it's a matter of expectations going in rather than actual quality.

If you want to listen to Witchhouse in 2020 I’d recommend the new SALEM Fires in Heaven album because it is very good!

Re: 2020 musical recordings
I mean Q101 could sound like this, instead it's the folk side project of that dude from House of Pain from two decades ago on heavy rotation.

Read about these dudes in the Reader this morning. This album is a Sound collage featuring Chicago as its backdrop. Gospel, jazz, r&b, blues, and hip hop history are folded into a collage that reminds me of No-ID productions. Recommended for residents of Chicago or fans of soul jazz/spiritual jazz hip hop production. Tracks like Mamas Land and Fall Dead wouldn’t sound out of place of recent flying lotus, Thundercat, or Makaya Mcraven albums.

Re: 2020 musical recordings
There isn't a bad song on the new AC/DC album. But, this is a gem:
It's the only song I can think of from AC/DC that sounds like Who made Who.
Brian Johnson hasn't sounded as good vocally since 1980 across the whole album.
