Ha! I really loved the early Sun Araw stuff. Up through maybe Ancient Romans. Heavy Deeds is an all-timer for me. This track is strange, but I kinda like it more than the other recent stuff. Maybe. I don't know. It's pretty strange.

Has Paves put out any music this year?

I’d argue that Greg Dulli’s solo album is better than the most recent Afghan Whigs releases.

I loved the same span of material. Up to but not including Ancient Romans. I loved the record he and Gengras did with The Congos, though...but that was like eight or nine years ago, now.

None. I recently asked when Shredfest 2020 was dropping and the answer was pretty much "never." But who knows what the future holds?

My sense is maybe he's done a lot of - too many? who am I to judge - drugs

I think it was mentioned already but this new Jeff Parker album is great. Between this, the new Chicago underground quartet album, and Makaya Mcravens remix of the Gil Scott Heron album it looks like Chicago Jazz is having a moment.

I’d highly recommend the Jeff Parker. And if you happen to not like it, just skip to track 10, it’ll give you an idea of what to do next.
