2014 Musical Recordings

While I was Christmas shopping, I bought myself a few records, including Ty Segall's 'Manipulator' double lp. The sticker on the file copy at Reckless and, seriously, ALL the reviews say something to the effect of "every Ty Segall record is great, but If you're going to buy just one, this is it!" Just got done with side one and am seriously agonizing over whether or not to flip it, cuz, like, I don't know if I'm up to the chore of listening to another 3 sides of this kid's bullshit. It's like, these are the kind of sounds that I theoretically like, but the songs are just so nondescript and milquetoast, I'm really regretting wasting 20 bucks on this thing.

Really wishing I'd gotten the Alisa Ambrogio record instead.

Seagall and Kurt Vile I feel like get heralded with every release and I'll hear a song and it's like "Yup, this is Ty Seagall/Kurt Vile  ."

Haven't encountered her before. I can't honestly claim to be fully in tune with what Ty Segall's "deal" is, but I would listen to this song again.

Nah, a few of us were just saying things about Sleater Kinny that ranged from backhanded compliments to mysoginistic disses. Certainly don't recall any posts being so classless as to warrant thread deletion.

I noticed the thread was locked after a Bruegel post.

Anyway basic rundown of the thread was
New Sleater Kinney album in 2015.
New Scorpions album in 2015.
Some people think Sleater Kinney are not terrible / are terrible, but the drummer is kinda cute in some pictures / terrible but Portlandia is funny.
Probably something about some avant garde electronic music is coming out in 2015.

Reasonable guess but it was not me. Also have never knowingly heard Sleater-Kinney despite the fact that HS-aged me definitely would have found CB attractive. In the pseudo-pre-Internet '90s so many potential teenage indie rock crushes mercifully passed like ships in the night.

I am not going to lie I am very fired up about this Mystery Thread Deleter.
