Zara makes a skinny fit jacket but their material is not great and U'll have to tailor the sides in all likelihood. I've been buying Blazers from Scotch & Soda lately but still have to get them tailored.

I've never had a product from Zara last 4 any reasonable amount of time. Maybe I had bad luck but I don't like to give them my money 4 such trash quality. I was under the impression Topman was like an H&M, this isn't true?

I know they have physical stores like H&M but I've only purchased them via Nordstrom. I don't have their suits but their dress shirts and casual shirts have served me well and R better than H&M.

I think that Topman's suits R of much higher quality than anything else of theirs, but I still have a strong suspicion that U could do better on that budget.

Saw a really nice suit at a wedding and was told it was SuitSupply. Haven't tried them myself but may be worth it if doable geographically.

Yeah? I'm curious about this place. I'll be back in NYC in a month or so and I know there is a Suit Supply branch in Soho. As 4 Topman, I'll check out their dress shirts as I've been looking 4 a simple slim white spread collar 4 a reasonable price, 4 ages.

I saved my money and bought a leather jacket from Schott NYC. I've gotten a bunch of compliments but I fully accept this purchase means when I have a full blown midlife crisis I can only imagine how dark of a depth I might go.

i think clothes are a great way to act out a bit. certainly much better than getting a motorcycle or having the occasional cigarette to "feel alive again".

anyone got a rec for a sherpa lined jacket that's under $100? i would prefer corduroy to denim.

i'm thinking something like this without the obnoxious visible stitching:
    Clothes houndz. - Page 20 7494290c9684f898055573f9e07e508e

gonna go hit some thrift stores now to see if i can find one in a giant pile.

can i also air one of my modern fashion grievances? brands are trying to turn those horrible visible stitches into some sort of aesthetic trend. it's total bullshit. they're just being cheap fucks and machine stitching all their garments instead of hand sewing so they look better. i saw one of these sherpa jackets from Nieman Marcus that STILL had the visible stitching. that shit is so inexcusable for a jacket thats >$500. DOWN WITH VISIBLE STITCHING! p.s. please correct me if this is not true and i'm being super ignorant.

These are sort of ugly shoes IMO. Excessive piping, a big dumb stamp logo on the tongue, and a swoosh logo that doesn't even fit within its panel so they cut off the tail end of it. The balance of the shoe just looks off to me.

Summer is officially here in NYC. Time to buy too many short sleeved button down shirts in silk and fine cotton. Front tuck, rolled sleeves, half unbuttoned. This or black jeans/black t-shirt is basically my summer outfit always.

I most just wear Uniqlo supima cotton black T-shirts, a little larger than the right size in most cases, and I wash em hard so they get soft and worn out faster.

Looking for a viscose or silk short sleeve button down, maybe a little oversized. Anyone know of any?

Cut a pair of unwearable old jeans into shorts ánd I'm surprised by how well they turned out. Approaching this with some restraint and trepidation, i haven't worn shorts since I was about 16 so I'll definitely have to take them for a test run when the weather permits.

I've been thinking of trying a pair of shorts myself. Into the whole postal delivery person look of shorts with high socks and a pair of derbies or something.

Going down a shopping wormhole with all the sales right now. Actually managed to find some stuff that fits on Mr. Porter for 70% off and probably going back in for round two.

any of you ever buy a pair of shoes online, decide the fit is okay enough to keep them, turn on the shoes and absolutely despite the fit and never wear them for several years, then fall back in love and wear them all the time? that's what happened with me and this pair of Soludo's espadrilles:

    Clothes houndz. - Page 20 Mss_008_1

    http://www.soludos.com/men/smoking-slipper-washed-canvas-light-grey-mens

mine are more of a blue-grey than that color, but they've been a godsend in these late spring days. comfy, loose, stylish.

I've never actually purchased something online that I haven't tried on, or at least feel that I know how it will fit based on other items from said brand. I've only actually ever purchased 3 pieces of clothing online and 2 of them are in the mail currently.

But it sounds like your shoe situation worked out pretty nicely
