I too have really warmed up to this Alvvays band for many of the reasons Nick articulated. I feel like they hit the perfect feel good spot between 80s jangle pop like the feelies/early REM/etc and pretty shoegazy MBVish music. Just realized Beach House had an album this year that I should probably get around to listening to.

Also just realized none of the rap I listened to this year was from this year.
My favorite indie white kid music of 2022:

Jason Shapiro - This Tape Gon’ Blow Ya Ass Out!
Harshest Realm - Out For Justice 2
    The Chats - Get Fucked
Carly Rae Jepsen - The Loneliest Time
    Charli XCX - Crash
    April Olsen - Big Time
    Tatsuro Yamashita - Softly
Janis Ian - The Light at the End of the Line
    Alvvays - Blue Rev
    Taylor Swift - Midnights
The Smile - A Light for Attracting Attention
    Animal Collective - Time Skiffs

I thought Sidewalks & Skeletons' "Exorcism" was the best 2022 record I listened to last year.

It's excellent, to my ears clearly their best record, like Bloom but more ambitious with warmer textures and embracing their inner Mazzy Star more. Love "Superstar" with its nod to Bowie's "Heroes" and the luxurious guitar tone throughout, the analog synths and surfaces, how it's still slavish Cocteau Twins worship but sounds like Beach House more than anything, which means they've arrived as artists, the melodies, her voice, how great it fucking SOUNDS on Sub Pop vinyl. The songs, always on the edge of disappearing or signaling. The melding of influence in terms of the instruments they use. The tones, very Big. Just an excellent record all around.
