Hey Monotony, is an Ariana Grande full length something I should care about?

I really enjoyed Yours Truly, overbearing Mariah-isms aside, although the last few tracks (incl a duet with Mika, covering a song from the musical Wicked) derailed the train grand vitesse somewhat.

Haven't been as enthused by the singles from this new album, and am a bit bewildered by the fawning coverage from Pitchfork. I'm missing the Babyface stylings, mostly, and her voice seems to be getting more nasal. A new song was released today which is closer to the right track, so yeah I think we should still care about the full length.

Finally got back home and this cd was waiting for me. Got it blasting at the moment. Zoglatesh International is sick. Love this guy. And, the fact that the record is called "Prisoners of Jambalaya," I just… love this guy.
Thanks go to Paves for any involvement he had, and for just turning us onto this dude. Hope to hear something from him sometime. Musically or otherwise.

Appreciate the analysis. Trying to figure out if I'm really into Problem or just enjoy the video.

Listening to FKA twigs and this isn't really my thing. The first half was interesting but by "Closer" I was getting sick/bored with her sound. It all kind of sounds the same and makes me sleepy.

I dunno. It's better than Frank Ocean. Or maybe not.

Couple months ago I listened to the Copeland album and thought it was boring, mostly. IMO. First track was cool. A good new album is Prisoners of Jambalaya by Marshall Stacks.

FKA Twigs does little for me too, Nick. "Two Weeks" sounds like a watered down "Climax" to my ears.

I was just listening to this at a very loud volume while sending a text on Facebook messenger and I was seriously hoping zuckerberg was using his spy shit to listen in cause it would've blown his mind.

I love the production of all that uber-modern, moody/minimal R&B like FKA Twigs, but mostly they don't write very good songs. Is it like chillwave for black people or something? Or am I silly to think non-white people even know it exists?

Really looking forward to Dean Blunt's Black Metal.

Even more so now that I know it features contributions from Joanne Robertson. She provided some of my favourite moments on The Redeemer/Stone Island .

The new Earth album isn't changing the game or anything but sure is a fine recording. Mark Lanegan singing over some brooding doom metal? Count me in.

New Cymbals Eat Guitars sounds like Cymbals Eat Guitars which, for me, is a very good thing - The lyrical content on the new one hits a bit close to home too which made it a bit of a heavy listen.
