Lol, the "American tour" is 4 dates in California and one in New York, scheduled so they'll have to fly right over us 4 times before going home.

I looked in like 3 stores for The Life of Pablo.

I didn't realize physical copies of TLoP were on sale...

Also, fuck, I saw The Field once and it was so awesome. I went with a friend to go see him a second time at The Empty Bottle like three years ago but we got turned away at the door with our fake IDs.

Man, Frank Ocean's verse at the end of "Wolves" has really resonated with me this week. It is basically exactly how I feel right now, which sucks. I find myself pacing around my apartment lately and I will randomly stop everything to play those 30 seconds over and over again and just kind of stare out of my window like "damn..."

This is a weird and excellent album. Hip-hop, dancehall, 80s hair metal influences, and a Tame Impala cover:



Highlights: "Consideration", "Work", "Desperado", "Needed Me", "Same Ol' Mistakes", "Never Ending", "Higher".

Bonus tracks "Pose" and "Sex with Me" are also EXCELLENT.

It is more than a tiny bit listenable. I think it might be good actually. Either way, it's on pink vinyl and there a fiddle solo on "Never Ending Story," which makes it a no-brainer imho.

Hey Bruegel, this new Babyfather album isn't doing anything for me. The songs mostly sound like half-developed ideas to my ears. What are you thinking?

My first impressions were not great but I was distracted so it was a pretty cursory listen. It seems overly conscious of the art world audience...too much knowing/ironic detritus detracting fro the musical meat.

I've got my hands full with Omar, Gate, Overdose, Nu Guinea, Disco Mantras, Body San and loads of other good shit atm so its well and truly on the back burner.
