Finally heard this song. I thought I was done being surprised at what other people get excited about but, uh, what's going on here.

Well, yeah, but it seems like the excitement is well outside that intended demographic. Of course I never got why "Happy" was something adults listened to on purpose so.

I watched the Academy Awards (lol) and they made such a big deal about this song being performed, of course it was a totally bastardized rendition of it so I still haven't heard its real version.

For some reason it's important to me to believe that this is a relevant event that matters, maybe only because most of the people who are most outspoken about their hate for it are right-wing trolls who only watch comic book movies, so I keep tuning in out of some dumb devotion to a cause that doesn't exist anymore.

Half of this dumb production was a barely disguised Disney Plus commercial. If anyone here remembers, please remind me not to tune in next year.

For years the only thing I thought of when I heard the word "Bally's" was the chain of gyms they had in the Chicago area (and possibly all across the rest of the country for all I know) where everyone was completely ripped and oiled up and barely dressed.







Then a year or so ago I was watching NBA highlights on YouTube and I started to noticed that a LOT of markets across the country were carrying their sports on... Bally Sports Networks?



These seemed to be affiliated with Sinclair Broadcasting because the ticker at the bottom of the screen would regularly flash a "Sinclair Cares" message in between scores from other games going on that night.

Now they're going to build a casino in downtown Chicago?

LOL, yea, I have been confused about the Bally’s casino/gambling on thing too.

Looks like while the fitness clubs went out of business they were part of a broader company that has always had a gambling aspect to it.

You'll see "Bally's" on a lot of pinball machines, which were originally intended for gambling before flippers were invented. They've been in the gambling biz for a long ass time and have a casino in Vegas that used to be the MGM Grand. Looks like they're part of the same company that owned the fitness places, which we def had in California too.

Driver’s license renewal. For whatever reason I didn’t qualify for online renewal.

I was there a month ago to do a thing with my car title and I was in and out without an appointment in minutes. The grocery store a few doors down from that is unbelievably expensive!

Yes! That was the one. Not every request needed a reservation today. Some people walked right in when they told the security guard what they were there for.

There is a 2 hour wait from like 3PM onwards no matter where you are. Believe me, I’ve checked random cities across America and always get the same answer: “About 1 1/2 to 2 hours, sir.”

People wait outside and park a block away for Texas Roadhouse.
