SNL sucks for so strictly regulating how their vids are shared, but this is one of the greatest things of all time.

Moderately certain this won't be funny to an American but here's some A+ regional humour for you

All this stuff happened during a period where I was completely oblivious to everything going on at SNL, so after I became slightly obsessed with Bill Hader and Fred Armison for their other things, I had fun venturing down youtube wormholes of old shit.
The reading of this Fake Italian is insane genius.
Another thing that is fascinating to me is the saga of Bill Hader breaking character on SNL. Every story about the people who went out of their way to crack him up makes the original sketches so much better in retrospect:

I was a "SNL is underrated" guy for many years. I didn't get to see it much in the 90s, but I was a weekly watcher during Armisen / Hader / Wiig years, and it was as consistent as it ever was - about 1/3 really funny, 1/3 kinda, 1/3 bad. Go back and look at any era that's hailed as golden: Belushi/Ackroyd/Murray, Murphy/Piscopo, Crystal/Short, Lovitz/Hartmann/Carvey/Myers, Will Ferrell, etc. It was consistently funny / not funny in about the same proportion. And always very much of it's time.
There was a precipitous decline with the introduction of Alec Baldwin's "Tony Bennett With A Mop On His Head" routine, and I gave up about a year after President TBWAMOHH was elected. Maybe it's good now, but I doubt it.
I recently discovered Mitchell and Webb. These guys are good:

^ might it be cheaper to just pop to the moon and fake the footage there?
Yeah, I’ve never even heard of this, but I’m in.

I quite prefer the first four series of Peep Show, but it's 1) still good, and 2) a different beast on account of the narrative/sketch divide. But I know Ned's ride or die for sketch comedy, so it seems like a particularly natural fit.

It might be a bit of a bold statement, but in my honest opinión, this is the best sketch comedy has ever gotten. And like Zappo said, I am ride or die for sketch comedy.

Bob is probably my very favorite performer. I'm really excited to see the very improbable John Wick type movie that he has out (and now that I'm typing that, it makes me think about the time where David as Tobias talked about having his own "Alias type show").
I've been thinking about his pronunciation of the word "art" as Senator Tankerbell a lot today for whatever reason. And about this show in general. Why can't people keep their willies out of holes?
