Read about these dudes in the Reader this morning. This album is a Sound collage featuring Chicago as its backdrop. Gospel, jazz, r&b, blues, and hip hop history are folded into a collage that reminds me of No-ID productions. Recommended for residents of Chicago or fans of soul jazz/spiritual jazz hip hop production. Tracks like Mamas Land and Fall Dead wouldn’t sound out of place of recent flying lotus, Thundercat, or Makaya Mcraven albums.
Interesting timing for me, which will be clear in an upcoming post. Def something I should look into.
