Does LOPP approve of them? First listen, surprised in a good way. The Velvets / Wire see-saw is tilting more towards the latter.

I've liked some of their stuff. Not really an answer to your question though.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
Listened to the new Wode a couple times and think it is a very good album. Have tried listening to Tim Hecker's new album but it keeps making me fall asleep. Maybe that is what he's going for but I think it sucks.

To the best of my knowledge, I've never heard a parquet courts song, but that description sounds like something I'd be into.
Definitely gonna be checking out that junior boys too ASAP.

I think that Sausage liked at least some of the Parquet Courts oeuvre, circa a year or two ago. I've not heard a note.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
Seems like the US based sites are lukewarm / disappointed in the new PJ Harvey whereas the England based sites are calling it exceptional and giving it high praise.
I think it is a terrific continuation of Let England Shake. Not as immediately strong but still sounds like nothing else I've heard this year.

I'd lie down in the middle of the street if I ever had the impression PJ Harvey would appreciate it so I guess I'm not what you would say without bias. But I am very much looking forward to hearing this record.

Is everyone over Weezer at this point? Too many bridges burnt?
Kind of embarrassed to admit it but this one's making me feel all cozy, like it's 2002 all over again.

Re: 2016 Musical Recordings
I heard a Raditude song at a tasting room the other weekend and was super taken aback. I forget which song it was but it was great. It's incredible how much I loved that album, still enjoy it anytime I hear a song from it, and how turned off I was by Hurley. Haven't been back to the Weez since. That dang rapist Dr. Luke create a masterwork!
Please let me know what you think, since very few people seem to care about it. It's not when I expected to be listening to in 2016, but I think it's really special.

Brian Eno - The Ship
It's remarkable how artless and plain his singing voice is. He's like the post-rock Leonard Nimoy. I read in an interview that he regularly sings in a church choir despite being atheist, and I can hear that in his style. It's strangely evocative, especially on his cover of I'm Set Free.

Not nearly as into the Beyoncé album as the rest of the Internet apparently is. Find it kind of boring overall. Certainly nowhere on the level Dawn seems to be right now.

^ I really hope they put that out in physical form at some point
As someone who grew up on a diet of Camberwick Green/Trumpton/Chigley, I found that video very disturbing. Good song.

Am I nuts or did Thom Yorke spend the last six years or so turning into Willie Nelson?

I think U R right. Thom is just a bloke making world changing music and happy to let his facial hair and chest hair blend into one.

This made it onto the first mix CD I ever made of tracks I downloaded off Napster back in 1999/2000 (classic toytown rave anthems plus LFO, Orbital, Moby etc) and I still listen to it all the time. This will sound impossible but I never connected it 2 this before today.
Wording this post took a lot longer than I wanted it to and I'm still not happy with it.

A new Radiohead album comes out Sunday. What a beautiful thing to find out on a Friday.

Was this on there?
Im guessing Bentley Rythym Ace got down to this whilst he was in Pop Will Eat Itself.

I guess that takes care of Mothers Day then.
